ARMY ACT 1950 EVERYONE MUST KNOW THE BASICS OF AA 1950
ARMY ACT 1950 IS THE BACK BONE OF ARMY DISCIPLINE. ALL COMMANDERS AND STAFF OFFICERS SHOULD BE WELL CONVERSANT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE ARMY ACT AND THE POWERS IT GIVES TO THE COMMANDING OFFICER AND THE RIGHTS IT GIVES TO THE ACCUSED
A A IS VITAL FOR MILITARY DISCIPLINE. Army Rule 54 provides various rules auth under AA 191. RFA are published under the auth AA 192 . Any amendment to AA AR and RFA need parliament approval under AA 193
Friend remember you cannot mug up law. you need to establish a good foundation knowledge systematically for which this site will guide you.
Please do remember when you appeared for Part B and D you only wanted to qualify .
Now preparing for staff colleges is a different game as you are in a competition environment and
you need more marks than your course mate, buddy, and regimental officer.

SECOND THING . DONT GET INTO HYPOTHETICAL DOUBTS AND SCENARIO . FORGET ALL OLD CASES AND KNOWLEDGE YOU GOT IN LAST 9 YEARS OF SERVICE . READ FROM THE BOOKS AND GAIN KNOWELEDGE OF MILITARY LAW FOR STAFF COLLEGES EXAMINATIN
LAW IS A SIMPLE PAPER IF U DECIDE NOT TO COMPLICATE IT
GUIDE LINES FOR PREPARING FOR LAW PAPER FOR STAFF COLLEGES
Principle 1 "IT IS NOT WHAT IS THE LAW .IT IS WHERE IS THE LAW" Your time spent should be focused on learning where is the topic in the books .
Principle 2. You can never study these bulk books prescribed more than once and hence you must make mega notes once and revise them and update them regularly. You can do it at the time of Part D and not wait for the year of the DSSC exam.
Principle 3. Dont get scared of the voluminous books . only few pages are required for the entrance examination.
Principle 4. Pl concentrate and prepare the questions as per syllabus given below.
(a) Complaints and Redressal of grievances
(b) Offences
(c) Arrest and Punishments
(d) Court martial , to include Procedure Revision Confirmation,Execution
(e) Investigation of Charges, Summary of evidence
(f) Court Of Inquiry
(g) Discipline Chapter RFA Volume 1 Part 2
(h) Armed Forces Tribunal Act
(j) Code Of Criminal procedure sec 129 - 131
(k) IEA
(l) IPC
(m) RTI
(n) Aid to civil authorities
[ Note 3(a) to (e) above requires detailed study spanning 20 study hours. The remaining need only one reading
Principle 5. Handling the prescribed books is important so that you know where to find what you are looking for in matter of seconds in the exam hall.
Principle 6. Do not over flag the books which leads to waste of time in searching. Will later teach you how to mark the MML. Vol 2 [ RFA needs no marking ]
Principle 7. Do not rely on searching for answers from Index. This will take away all the time and you will not be able to reach your answer. Dont follow Part D Model where you had 3 hours for law paper and you could keep turning pages for ever. In staff college 33 to 60 minutes and u click 100 marks . change your mind set.
Principle 8. Law has 100 marks and you get approx 35 minutes for answering 5 questions. Max you can allot 60 minutes . My advice to all candidates please answer ADMIN part in 2 hours first and then attempt LAW. [ Any advice given that LAW is maths and you can score full marks and hence must be attempted first is wrong. You may spend lot of time searching for the answer and will not have adequate time to attempt all questions of ADMIN ]
LAW IS THE ONLY SUBJECT WHERE CATCH QUESTIONS CAN BE ASKED. EVERY LAW QUESTION WILL HAVE A CATCH AND YOU HAVE TO FIND IT TO GET THE CORRECT ANSWER . YOU MUST LEARN TO IDENTIFY THE CATCH IN THE QUESTION AND GET THE ANSWER IN THE FIRST READING AT WORST IN SECOND READING. YOU MUST PRACTICE IDENTIFYING THE CATCH WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS GIVEN IN THE SITE
